Tiara Darnell is the Host and Executive Producer of High, Good People.
Tiara’s entry into legal cannabis began through her job as a “budtender” at Farma PDX, one of Portland’s finest cannabis dispensaries. She was selected by Leafly, the world’s largest digital cannabis publication, as Oregon’s Budtender of the Year in 2017. And the following year, she was selected out of 18,000 applicants for one of ten spots in Spotify’s inaugural Sound Up Bootcamp for up and coming women of color podcasters.
Through HGP, Tiara applies her background in journalism and storytelling, and strategic communication. The podcast’s pilot episode was actually a part of the graduate project that earned her dual Master’s of Science degrees in Strategic Communication and Multimedia Journalism.
A native of the DC area, Tiara moved to Oregon sight unseen and alone to work in the Oregon wine industry after two years serving as a Community Development volunteer with the Peace Corps in Morocco. She currently serves as Chair of the City of Portland’s Cannabis Policy Oversight Committee, and was hand-selected by City Commissioner, JoAnne Hardesty to serve on the municipal Cannabis Equity Grant Review Committee. Her dream is to be the Anthony Bourdain of cannabis. Give this girl a show!
